Processing oilseeds such as sunflower and soy to obtain edible vegetable oil can be a daunting task that combines a stack of different technologies and processes, yet beside the primary product, which is refined vegetable oil, it allows to obtain several other important by-products. Such by-products namely include crude lecithin, fatty acids, and meal, and these are a substantial source of feedstock, first of all, for formula feed production as well as important raw materials for the food processing, chemical and other industries.
